Problem Statement
Our client is a manufacturer and supplier of Tier 1 automotive components that used an in-house SQL Server Data Warehouse for data management which needed a separate team of analysts to create data extraction scripts in SSIS for connecting to their various source systems and a separate team collect and consolidate sales and financial figures which was then shared to the office. Considering they had 600 sites involved in transactions at over 100 group companies with more than 250 factories in around 40 countries, this was a hassle.
Key Challenges
- Fragmented Data & Reporting Infrastructure for handling massive data volumes.
- Lack of Enterprise-wide Visibility and the inability to track KPIs across levels.
- Delayed and error prone reporting due to slow data extraction and analysis.
- Overreliance on spreadsheets for reporting – also leading to difficulties in managing complex information like budgetary logic.
Solution Implemented
- Data extraction, cleaning, and created a consolidated data layer on Qlik.
- Created a BI layer above the data layer for streamlined reporting.
- Our analytics projects covered multiple subject areas: MIS, Budget Management System, PMS, Sales, purchase & spend, Inventory, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
- Executed an OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) project to track OEE for plant maintenance.
